Happy International Mother Language Day!
Heartening to see students build background knowledge about their chosen topic in their home language for output in English.
As always, Eowyn Crisfield gives you a lot to think about. Enjoyed learning about orientations to linguistic diversity with her at ECIS MLIE From Borders to Bridges Conference @mlielang
It was heart-warming to see parents engage and ask thoughtful questions in our parent learning session on "Conditions for Multilingual Learner Success". We build trust and credibility in our programs through open and transparent conversations, and sharing research with parents.
Excited to share our article on fostering belonging in our learning spaces. It's always such a joy to collaborate with the one and only educator extraordinaire @megan_vosk

As part of studying Right to Education, we brainstormed what education means to us. Like always, our students came up with creative and thoughtful responses . Education means - learning, access to opportunities, fun, freedom, preparing for future, and adapting to live life fully.
Super excited about the opportunity to share my insights at one of the biggest conferences in the field of multilingual learning. So much to learn and unlearn at this conference.
Today, for inclusion activity during our team meeting, we had to pick affirmation cards. This one really spoke to me because I don't believe in the notion of perfection. Imperfections make room for mistakes, creativity and imagination. How about you?
Launched a new unit today with station teaching about poverty as a barrier to education. Students explored resources from around the world and synthesized their learning through creating headlines.
What a wonderful opportunity for our families to better understand our program, beliefs and philosophy. We also collaborated with our library teams because libraries foster multilingualism. Thank you @aesmshslibrary and @mizguya .
AES hosted its first-ever school-wide EAL (English as an Additional Language) parent Coffee on September 20th. The EAL Team plans to offer more of these Parent Coffees events to discuss other topics this year. We hope to see you there!
