🚨Recruiting Reminder🚨
College coaches receive hundreds—if not thousands—of emails from athletes asking them to come watch them play.
In today’s world, attention spans are short. Most coaches will watch your video before they ever read your email. Your film is what gets their attention.
You have to put in the work and prove through your video that you have the skill level they’re looking for. If your film shows you can compete at their level, they’re much more likely to take the next step—whether that’s reading your email, evaluating you further, or coming to watch you play.
Your highlight video isn’t just part of the recruiting process—it’s often the first impression that determines whether a coach wants to learn more.

I know this may not be a big deal to some but I noticed it immediately. The eye contact.
One thing that was instilled in me at a young age was the importance of making eye contact when someone is speaking to you. It’s a simple habit, but it says a lot. It shows respect. It shows that you’re present and paying attention.
That’s why it’s something I emphasize at every clinic I run. When I’m teaching, I expect athletes to look me in the eye. Not because I’m trying to be super strict, but because learning how to communicate, listen, and show respect will take them much further than anything I can teach them about fielding a ground ball or swinging a bat.
While I don’t know Coach Murphy or Jocelyn Briski, the fact that this is something she naturally does tells me a lot about her character and the program that helps shape her.
Softball is about so much more than softball.
Patrick Murphy has spent his life pouring into players. This season, those players poured something back into him. They reminded him why the work matters, and why culture & team-first values are still worth fighting for

"This was the team that made the alums proud." - Patrick Murphy after Alabama's season-ending loss to Texas Tech in the Women's College World Series semifinals
Dear Taylor, Jordan & Megan,
You have made every UCLA alum proud.
Not just because of the wins.
Not because of the records.
Not because of the trophies.
Because of the way you represented UCLA.
Your loyalty.
Your competitiveness.
Your grit.
Your commitment to something bigger than yourselves.
You showed up for each other. You led. You elevated everyone around you.
And in doing so, you showed every little girl watching what is possible when talent is matched with relentless work, unwavering belief, and a team-first heart.
Long after the statistics fade, that will be your legacy.
Thank you for wearing the four letters the way they were meant to be worn.
Go Bruins, forever.
After Texas Tech tied the game in the seventh inning, the #LadyVols said, "Good."
The response traced back to a video the team watched earlier this season about handling adversity.
Karen Weekly said the message they embraced in that moment was: "When bad stuff happens, say, 'Good.' Now we get to respond."
I want to note when Brooke Wells hit the go ahead to put up a 3 run lead, the happiest person to greet her, Mari Hubbard, was the happiest I’ve ever seen anyone.
She’s not in the starting line up, she didn’t get into the game.
That’s Alabama softball.
