Teams from THPS, @CDCTanzania , @wizara_afyatz , and @mdh_tanzania participated in a joint exercise to evaluate the ability of the Molecular Laboratory at @bombo_hospital to perform HIV Viral Load tests. They also reviewed the process at Ngamiani Health Centre to ensure high-quality samples for Early Infant Diagnosis are collected and sent to the testing lab.
Additionally, THPS has played a key role in this effort by improving the skills and expertise of lab staff and upgrading lab facilities to create a better and more efficient working environment.

Today, THPS, through the USAID Uhuru wa Afya (Health Freedom) project, handed over equipment to support TB diagnosis in the Kigoma region.
The equipment, two TrueLab machines worth 54,638,800 Tanzanian shillings, was handed over by the project’s Chief of Party, Dr. Benedicta Masanja, to Mr. Hassan Rugwa, the Kigoma Regional Administrative Secretary.
The machines, installed at Kigoma Regional Referral Hospital and Ilagala Health Centre in Uvinza District Council, are expected to improve molecular TB diagnostic capacity in the Kigoma region.
Mr. Rugwa expressed his appreciation for USAID’s support, which will enhance efficiency in early TB case detection, treatment initiation, and prevention, leading to improved health and well-being of Kigoma citizens.

THPS Board Chair, Prof. Mohamed Janabi, has reaffirmed THPS’s commitment to continue delivering lifesaving innovative healthcare initiatives and leave no one behind in its pursuit of a healthier Tanzania. He was speaking today during the THPS 11th Annual General Meeting.
THPS under Afya Hatua project, funded by #PEPFAR through @cdctanzania provided Kigadye dispensary, in Kasulu District with a solar unit that powers the facility 24/7. This innovative solution has enabled the dispensary to overcome previous limitations and improve its services.
Shida Mfunya, a Recipient of Care and Peer Educator at Maweni RRH- Kigoma, says the innovative colour-coded filing system, supported by @thpstz Afya Hatua project, has greatly improved the efficiency of service delivery to clients at the facility’s care and treatment clinic.
Dr Mohamed Litonya, Technical Advisor for Care & Treatment at THPS, visited Bumbuli DDH in Tanga, one of 5 facilities supported by the PEPFAR/CDC Afya Hatua project. He engaged CTC health workers in discussions on providing quality services to recipients of care.
