We hire teachers for their strengths, not their weaknesses.
Too often teachers are hired for strengths but then managed for weaknesses.
Effective leaders focus more on developing strengths than just focusing on weaknesses. Itโs their strengths that make them amazing!

"... young people deserve to leave school with so much more than a set of numbers and letters to take with them through their life." Currently they, "leave education without a true reflection of the breadth of skills and attributes they possess."

Confidence is built from success. How many students lack confidence because they never experience success in school? We need to focus on developing their strengths not just focus on weaknesses.
Teacher effectiveness is not greatly improved by curriculum, new programs, or initiatives. But, when teachers are respected, valued, supported, & feel like their talents are utilized, then morale increases, job satisfaction soars, & teachers are most effective!
Teaching wins of the day.
Year 7 engaged with creating marketing advertisements selling a USELESS PRODUCT. Students need to sell their products using visual and persuasive skills ๐๐ญ #EnglishTeacherLife
@Luke_DelaCruz Thank you @Luke_DelaCruz ! I was pleasantly surprised to see how engaged they were and this task definitely made Shakespeare more accessible to them. Appreciate the positive feedback ๐
Year 8 English had the opportunity to compose a Shakespearean rap song! Working with iambic pentameter and rhyme scheme. Who knew Shakespeare can be so closely linked to hiphop? ๐
โThe best schools make decisions based on the needs and passions of the students, not on the interests and traditions of the adults.โ
