Update on Government Negotiations with Dr. Mahrang Baloch

A government delegation, led by the Deputy Commissioner of Quetta, visited Dr. Mahrang Baloch at Hudda District Jail in Quetta today. During the meeting, the delegation presented my sister with an offer for her release, and assured the charges against her under the Maintenance of Public Order (3MPO) would be withdrawn with some conditions.

The conditions proposed by the deputy commissioner were:

1- Mahrang must provide a written statement affirming that she and her movement, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), will not block roads or disrupt highways during protests.

2- The BYC must agree not to organize political sit-ins or demonstrations in major highways and cities.

Dr. Mahrang Baloch refused to accept these conditions. DC informed her release would be granted under these terms, while the release of other detained BYC members would be considered only after her release.

Mahrang’s response was that she would not accept freedom unless all arrested BYC members were released alongside her.

As a result, the negotiations did not progress further.

I am deeply grateful to @sakhtarmengal @MediacellBNP for his unwavering support and relentless efforts. He has stood by us with courage and remains fully committed to the struggle for the release of all arrested BYC leaders and workers.

Thanks to everyone’s solidarity, my release has become possible. However, our struggle must continue until all BYC leaders and workers are freed.

Our movement has always been peaceful and will remain so. May this peaceful struggle flourish as we continue to fight for our rights, justice, and the release of all those who have been forcibly disappeared.

ہم کوئٹہ کے عوام سے اپیل کرتے ہیں کہ لکپاس کے دوسری جانب پہنچیں، اور مستونگ کے عوام سے گزارش ہے کہ وہ اپنی طرف سے لکپاس پر جمع ہوں۔ یہ بات واضح ہے: ہم اپنے مقصد کی طرف بڑھیں گے، چاہے ہمیں لکپاس کے نیچے ایک نئی سرنگ ہی کیوں نہ کھودنی پڑے۔

ہم مضبوط ہیں، ہم اپنے مقصد سے پُرعزم ہیں، اور سب سے بڑھ کر، ہم پُرامن ہیں۔ کوئی طاقت، کوئی جبر، ہمارے حوصلے کو متزلزل نہیں کر سکتا، نہ ہمیں ہمارے راستے سے ہٹا سکتا ہے۔
