Congratulations to AKU alumna Shaista Meghani on receiving the Jannetta MacPhail Award from the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Nursing!

The award recognizes doctoral students for superior academic achievement and scholarly excellence – a fitting description for Shaista’s work!

Shaista is an experienced instructor and researcher with a rich background in clinical care, academia, health systems, and research. She has published widely in leading peer-reviewed journals and has even been honoured with several awards for her academic and volunteer work.

Also a former faculty member of AKU’s School of Nursing and Midwifery (SONAM) in Pakistan, Shaista graduated from SONAM with a Diploma, Bachelor’s, and Master’s degree.

She continues to shine as an inspiration for nursing students everywhere.
