The department has conducted WASH FIT (the Water and Sanitation for Health Facility Improvement Tool) TOTs training for Sub County Health Managers as part of it's Health system strengthening under the support of #RMNCAH equity program @UNICEFKenya @USAIDKenya. The tool will be used to assess the WASH status of the health facilities, monitor and continuously implement an improvement plan for WASH and IPC standards. The team will cascade the same skills to the health facility in charges across the County.

The department is committed to address sanitation, hygiene, health care waste and other aspects of environmental health as part of it's preventive and promotive services @Nathif_J_Adam @anadhir @LeylaDayow @MOH_Kenya

Yesterday, Health CECM @anadhir had the privilege of hosting Senator Hon. Abdul Haji in his office. The Senator's visit, in alignment with his constitutional mandate, provided a valuable opportunity to discuss the current state of health services in Garissa County.

Following this engagement, the CECM accompanied the Senator on an impromptu tour of Garissa Level 5 Teaching and Referral Hospital. During the visit, the Senator closely observed the institution's operations and engaged directly with our dedicated frontline healthcare workers, gaining a valuable practical glimpse that offered deeper insights into our healthcare systems.

We recognise the significance of support by the @Senate_KE in building robust and resilient health systems to ultimately realise our goal of sustained good health outcomes for the residents of Garissa. We therefore thank the Senator for his keen interest in health matters and look forward to his continued collaboration.
