I havent been very consistent over the past week, i have a terrible addiction to procrastination and a bunch of other tasks swarmed me so I couldnt focus on my growth
Gonna try to dial in so that I can both improve with art and actually graduate college on time π
Today I wanted to try and draw that stupid ass picture of Enjin I always see in Instagram comments
I freeballed ts in one go with a reference on my other monitor, wasnt even side by side
WE ARE IMPROVING, THE IMPROVEMENT IS REAL!!!!
2/2 The eyes look a little bit dopey, but its actually really interesting. I traced the eyes at first since I couldnt see the details in my reference and I put the trace side by side with my sketch so I could imitate the shape, I guess Fujimoto is made of magic or something lol
Learning to Draw Progress:
Today I was swamped with classes so on top of my warmup I decided to do a line sketch of Asa from Chainsaw Man using a reference from the manga.
After a couple attempts I think it came out good. 1/2
Progress Report:
im feeling a lot less sick now yippee!!
today i tried drawing my gestures a little bit differently and I also tried capturing the action of the pose better.
i also tried cutting my time down after each figure to really challenge myself!
Learning to Draw update:
I have not been lazy i swear, I have been too sick to pick up the pen and its also put me behind on my studies.
My body needs to LOCK IN so I can LOCK IN and pick up the dang pen again and catch up on schoolwork..
here's rukia btw
Learning to Draw Progress Report:
Drew Soi Fon using a reference I found on google, you can definitely tell this isnt an AI drawing because of how bad my hand is π
I'm kinda getting stumped at what to do for practice, not sure if I'm improving or not, but ill trust the process!
PROGRESS REPORT!!!
I saw a video that said panel recreation is a good exercise for learning about the things you like about a certain style, so I tried one of Aki ontop of my gesture drawings. Some weird poses today in the generator, but I'm proud of what I did :)
Today along with gesture drawing, I decided to draw Johnny Joestar!
I've been reading some more Steel Ball Run and it is so peak.
I also tried to practice my line control today, could use some work.
I'm going back into college for one more semester, I'll try and stay locked in!!!
Today's gesture drawing was a lot easier, timer felt longer for some reason, dunno what was up yesterday
I also wanted to draw Zanka from Gachiakuta, I did 2 drafts based on a reference, I think I did pretty good!
Another day of timed gesture drawings. I did 2 minutes again and I swear that timer was moving faster than last time π
I am a little disappointed in how they look compared to last time, but im obviously not drawing anything perfect in 2 minutes. Maybe if i had 3....
Today I wanted to try something new
The exercise I chose was timed gesture drawings, I did 10 random poses with roughly 2 minutes each
It's already difficult to get proportions when I try doing gestures, the timer definitely challenges me more. I will do more in the future
Before and After
I am really surprised with myself today. Despite Power #1 looking like she had a stroke, I somehow managed to look at my reference and draw a pretty good mouth, nose, jaw, and left eye(?)
I also did a warmup of line control w/ circles and lines
Good practice!!
Update 3 or 4 i think?
I practiced today with a reference of Makima, and once I got a copy of her face that I liked, I tried copying the body of the ref too
The hardest part of today was def nailing her chin and jawline, i did fairly well with eye placement and everything else
Today I did some gesture drawing practice using a character reference, I think I did pretty well!!
It also is definitely not obvious which character I used lol β‘οΈποΏ½οΏ½οΏ½β¬β‘οΈ
1st Progress report!
Today I did a copy analyze fix exercise using Aki's face (the red and green are the traced lines from the reference)
I also attached a practice I did the other day using Sandman as ref (the hand is traced, i just wanted to see if it looked good)
more soon
whether they be good or bad.
If there are any experienced artists out there, any tips, advice, or encouragement would be much appreciated.
But if anyone is also working towards a creative goal, let's hold each accountable and grow together :)
Hello Twitter/X
I am starting this account to keep myself accountable with following through on my goal to practice and get good at drawing and art
This year I want to be committed and to do so, I am going to be posting progress updates of my journey here and every sketch I make;
