As part of the ongoing nationwide tour of primary health care facilities, the Special Adviser to the President on Health paid a working visit to Karu Local Government Area in Nasarawa State.

The visit provided an opportunity to inspect the delivery of primary health care services within the LGA, engage with frontline health workers, and assess existing infrastructure and operations at the facility.

In continuation of her engagements, the Special Adviser also visited the Nasarawa State Primary Health Care Development Agency, where she met with key stakeholders to discuss strategies for collaboration and alignment in strengthening primary health care systems in the state.

This initiative is a vital component of the Federal Government’s commitment to revitalizing the primary health care sector and advancing the objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda—ensuring that quality and accessible health care is available to all Nigerians

On 30th January 2025, Uganda’s Ministry of Health confirmed an Ebola virus disease (EVD) outbreak (Sudan species) in Wakiso, Mukono, and Mbale City. So far, only one case has been reported.

There are no cases of Ebola in Nigeria. @NCDCgov, in collaboration with partners, is closely monitoring the situation and has strengthened preparedness measures.

Despite progress, outcomes remain concerning—only 43% of births attended by skilled providers, and just 39% of children fully vaccinated.
