this is about to be a hot take, and is not geared towards anyone individually, BUT…

founders buying NFT’s to impress another founder is 99.9% of the time a move to try and take liquidity from other communities through cross pollination

there have been instances of this, only for that opposing community to try and convince our holders to dump our NFT’s and buy more heavily into their brand (bruh…)

not only does this spread internal liquidity thin, but also creates this weird sense of fake support

this is coming from someone who used to collaborate often and always… and cherished relationships with other founders

however, with all the founders that have purchased @grapes over the years, it almost always comes with some sort of request after purchase, or gaslight of a collaboration

hate it or love it, every founder is out here trying to bring the most value to THEIR OWN community, and frankly don’t give two shits about your NFT brand �� any founders that say otherwise — your on-chain transactions will disagree (buy, ask for support, and then WETH… classic)

have yet to see a founder that purchases a @grapes that actually understands and could explain what we’re building… truly

ok, rant over… here’s what SHOULD happen between communities:

founders should focus less on how they can support other communities through being a “holder” and more how they can bring utility to benefit their own holders, and stakeholders in web3 (other communities, or floaters in the space)

brands that support these utilities get recognized and people organically purchase another brand, instead of being forced to support because “it’s the web3 way”

tired of this fake supporting bullshit… stop farming a circle and try and onboard some new community

too many brands want our support, fail to deliver, and then disappear — we’ll be ok without collaborating with every new kid on the block

something is coming for @grapes this month that will be too hard for web3 users in our circles to ignore — and we’ll provide this utility to other communities we think are organic, true-blue, and care about the health of the space
