Today is International Holocaust Remembrance Day—the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the concentration camp where millions of Jews and others were tortured and murdered. I went to Auschwitz last year when I was in Poland to preach, and I will never forget the experience. It was gut-wrenching to realize the capacity for evil in the human heart and to be in this place where so many lost their lives. Auschwitz should forever remind the world of the evil at the root of antisemitism and why this should never be allowed to gain a foothold again. All of this is Satanic—there’s no other way to explain it, and Satan is still trying to do it today. He would like to destroy not only God’s people, the Jews, but you and me and every person.
