— To all the artists that are not standing up for Music:

If you're benefiting from a system that disadvantages others, silence isn't neutrality, it's comfort. It's easier to stay quiet when the system works in your favor than to risk speaking against it.

BTS didn't issue that statement because of their personal wants. They issued it because they believe music should never be separated by region or language.

"We hope music itself can be heard and loved rather than being distinguished by region or language."

That sentence isn't just about them. It's about every artist who has ever been boxed into a category because of where they were born instead of what they created.

And now that one of the biggest artists in the world has finally had the courage to say it out loud, where is everyone else?

BTS have taken a stand for music itself. The least the rest of the industry can do is decide whether they have the courage to stand beside that principle or remain silent while segregation is repackaged as "representation."

The Recording Academy has never faced this level of public scrutiny over one of its own decisions ever before.

BTS didn't ignite this discussion for personal gain. They challenged a principle that affects artists far beyond themselves.

🚨 Tras la polémica generada por sus declaraciones sobre BTS y la nueva categoría "Best Asian Pop Music Performance", Zeena Koda puso su cuenta de Instagram en privado y eliminó de su biografía la referencia a su cargo como Vice President of Marketing en Universal Music Enterprises (UMG).

Sin embargo, ese mismo cargo continúa figurando en su perfil de LinkedIn.

Resulta profundamente preocupante que una ejecutiva de @UMG , empresa que participa en la distribución de la música de BTS, haya decidido responsabilizar públicamente al grupo por expresar su postura frente a una decisión de los GRAMMY.

Más aún cuando sus declaraciones cuestionan la integridad de BTS y atribuyen su decisión a una supuesta búsqueda de atención mediática.

La postura de BTS fue clara: defender que la música sea reconocida por lo que es, y no dividida por región o idioma.

Nada justifica intentar desacreditar esa decisión, y menos aún viniendo de alguien que ocupa un cargo ejecutivo en una compañía vinculada a la distribución de su música.
