I don’t think anyone quite understands how MANY people are living in campers and sheds across Western North Carolina right now.
It is truly mind boggling.
This is footage of an “RV community” that has evolved out of necessity after Hurricane Helene in #WNC.
So hard to watch 💔
Some of my favorite places in Western North Carolina now look unrecognizable.
Trash is piled as high as 15ft along the roads. Thousands of people living in campers or sheds, barely making it.
You could throw a rock from right here and hit the front gate of the Biltmore Estate…
Here’s a map showing Chinese-owned farmland conveniently located near 19 U.S. military bases.
But yes, please tell me more about how banning TikTok is because we have a government deeply committed to protecting our national security.
Thanks to @blue_rhino for the generous donations! If you told us 100 days ago that we'd still be distributing propane to heat the over 150 RVs we've donated, we absolutely WOULD have believed you. Stay strong #WNC , hope is on the way! #CajunNavy https://t.co/wwNr3POf0U
The lines for propane and heaters in Western North Carolina are truly mind blowing.
There are SO many people living in RVs or insulated sheds here, everyone is just trying to stay warm.
It’s so heartbreaking to watch 💔
🚨’Haven on the Hill’ is a pop up RV community in Waynesville, NC
These ‘Helene communities’ are everywhere 💔
