Wicked has gone from being something I liked and that meant something to me to something I absolutely never want to hear or thibk about ever again for all my days
Being a parent w/little kids in school and watching these supervillain cabinet picks roll is horrific. I’m nauseous and preemptively exhausted at how much research I’m going to have to do to stay ahead of what’s coming
@JayElHarris Lol thanks, it’s just weird for her to rewrite history using the paranoia of today. I loved sleepaway camp and definitely plan to send my kids when they’re ready!!
@JayElHarris I did a book event this week where I talked about reading a naughty book while at sleepaway camp (a formative experience that made me a writer) and my mom (who sent me to that camp!) freaked out bc in 2024 retrospect she now feels neglectful
@NewWestSarah Def but I also see certain notable mommy accounts on here posting smug, sarcastic things like “Ooh feel sorry for me, I get to sleep in, snuggle my babies, and rest when I need instead of going to an office!!” I don’t think anybody chooses a deficit of rest
As someone who grew up in a community where 2-income households were the norm, I’ll never not be confused by these engagement-bait questions, like do groceries not cost money on the other side of the tracks? Do women all just visit the husband store on their 18th birthdays?
@cdonosowriter Oh yeah it’s ridiculous for all the reasons, but even if we read it as “Why would anyone choose to work for a living when she could be a SAHM with a lovely family and home,” it’s still ridiculous because those options are not available to all!!!!
