After all the heartbreak, to still possess such unbelievable resilience and undeniable character, to stand up and be counted one more time, to never lose hope, to keep dreaming and today, to make our dreams come true. What an achievement, what a club ππ

@deirdrelanglang Very informative so far. Taking notes on how to better integrate screening, assessment and intervention into my new role in Primary Care.
Very sad to say goodbye to @CUH_Cork after an incredible year. Countless people to thank for making it such a positive experience. I now begin my next journey as Community OT in Carrigaline PCC. Excited to see what the future holds.
Looking forward to today's virtual conference with @SpinalIreland. Day 2 is very applicable to OT practice. Discussions around appropriate wheelchair and seating, travel and recreation and making a house an accessible home.
This person was thankfully ok and will no doubt be up, dressed and moving again tomorrow. Perhaps a little more wary but will build confidence and increased independence with time. Far more so than if she was told to stay in the bed/chair.
We had our first fall today in the #gugdgm2021 challenge. My thoughts. Falls will happen. We cannot wrap older adults up in cotton wool and force dependency upon them. We must encourage suitable independence in daily activities and mobility. No risk = no gains.
Day 1 of the Get up, get dressed, get moving 60 day challenge on the 2 trauma wards in @CUH_Cork let's see how many people we can get up and dressed by 12am each day! Helping to prevent deconditioning during hospital admissions. #gugdgm2021
