The closest thing I can think of with my teachers using theatre activities in the classroom would have been in my senior English class when we were reading plays by Shakespeare. We got to read scenes aloud as a class and try and play into the character. I really enjoyed it 1/2

There are a few times where I did poorly on an assignment. One instance of this would be in my Ling 101 class where I did poorly on the first exam. This was my first true lecture class in the size and way it was taught. I learned a lot about note taking in this class as it 1/2

Listening to the student talk about differentiated learning just reinforced how different each student is and how different everyone is. No one learns the same way and it's important as future teachers to understand this. #491FlynnF20

After watching the video on inquiry teachers Ive thought about the teachers Ive had in the past and realized how much better I did in classes were the teacher was an inquiry rather than not and it makes me want to strive to be an inquiry teacher for my future students#Flynn491F20

I've never liked the icebreakers used on the first day of class every year. They are usually very awkward and unproductive. I really liked the idea of using journals to get to know your students better as I feel like students can be more personal and not have to stand in front1/2

I really liked the idea of having parents come in and use their skills to help with a lesson and make learning more fun and engaging. I think it's important for teachers to have that line of communication with parents so that no one is in the dark about what is going on... (1/2)

I would first listen to the parents complaints and here their side. When speaking I wouldn't get an angry or upset tone but speak politely with the parents and discuss with them what has been transpiring within the classroom so that we might come to a solution#491FlynnF20

I would try to break the ice with families is by emailing them and introducing them and let them know that teaching their kids is my top priority for the school year I would also ask them if there was anything I might need to know that would help me teach their kids#491FlynnF20

@EdwardBenner6 This is a great question and I think explaining to students and parents about the benefits of sharing our creative works out loud and how they can help us learn valuable skills and grow as a person.

@mggranato99 I totally agree with this! Even when we write stories, essays, or poems there aren't always just negatives that we can improve upon but positives that we can reinforce and make better as well. #491FlynnF20

One question I did have while reading Christensen was what do you do when you have students share out personal stories about their life and then other kids mock and make fun of them? How do you handle that type of situation? #491FlynnF20

Lastly I thought it was important when Christensen not only mentioned the good stories she had when implementing her lessons but the times when the students didn't take to what she was saying right away and how the classroom community took a while to form and grow #491FlynnF20
