@VoidDebris Yeah I do think charging it separately can be really bad UX for the client, I personally don’t mind either way as long as it’s clearly stated beforehand. But out of the 17 artists I’ve comm’d 6 have charged me service fees and only 2 of them mentioned it in their TOS…

Starting to not be a massive fan of VGen artists adding the 5% to their proposals without mentioning it in their terms or anywhere else beforehand, probably going to start cancelling comms over this from now on

@Kurommi02 Yeah I do think base price is the best, you can’t really go wrong with ‘you see what you get’. AFAIK PayPal prohibits asking the client to cover for the free but VGen is okay with it, so there’s no problem with charging 5% but if you charge 8-10 then PayPal might not like it

I don’t mind paying extra, I usually tip generously specifically to cover the fees for the artist, but not mentioning that you will be charged the 5% VGen fee beforehand is deceptive pricing by law definitions in many parts of the world and I just can’t support that practice

I always found it weird when artist make you select an option of how complex your character is in the form like isn’t that for you to decide? I feel like every artist has different concept of what’s complex and not, besides my ref
is already attached you can just look at it no?

Most file corruptions are very basic with just a messed up header or footer since those tend to be written last so if a file is corrupted and the size somewhat matches those of previous versions, as long as it isn’t a 0kb file, there is a good chance it can be recovered easily

The great thing about being into reverse engineering is that if a file corrupts I’m usually able to recover it or at least part of the data depending on how it corrupted, I wish my friends knew I had this power since I’d be glad to help but they usually succumb to despair instead

I very rarely get to use this power since I always have a backup of everything I’m working on and sometimes my friends mention losing work due to file corruption and I ask if I can take a look but they’ve long since deleted the file…

@mofumwiru Yeah! Some people unfortunately don’t see low maintenance friends as real friends is what I meant, comparing it to saying “low maintenance marriage, see how silly that sounds?”… we’ve had many falling outs because people interpret it as negligence but each for their own
