The Uluru statement called for Voice, Treaty, Truth. There is no reason to be afraid of any of these things. They are the roadmap to a country no longer frightened by its own shadow.
If you want to see in a picture why our country is in trouble, and why I’m so disgusted I’ll go to jail to help fix it, check out this chart.
It’s not even a secret.
These are the same people making huge profits, and doing the most damage to world.
Our politicians are bent.
@samthe_eagle Instead of giving churches a Tax Free Exemption the government should be taxing them and using the revenue to #RaiseTheRate and raise the aged and disability pension payments. Hillsong and the Mormons probably don't even donate a single cent to charities for all we know. #auspol
.@Raf_Epstein points out that Australian gas industry pays no tax.
Meanwhile Norwegian Ministry of Finance estimates that total gov revenue from Norway's 78% oil & gas export profits tax will be $209 billion (AUD) in 2023 alone.
That's $150,000 per family of four.

The sullen, sparse LNP benches, as the Voice legislation is introduced to parliament, demonstrates how out of touch and incapable of reading the national mood the Coalition is.
Instead of using the Voice as a focus to unite the nation, the Dutton led rabble revert to division!
Now that Australia has a federal Labor government, it’s time to reevaluate the staggering amounts of taxpayer money going to extremely wealthy private schools, and the preferential treatment some students from those schools get when seeking university entry.
In the name of heaven and all that’s decent, it is past time to end the persecution of Bernard Collaery, David McBride and Richard Boyle. @markdreyfusQCMP
Imagine if the bloke who ran your school tuckshop was a serial liar.
If everyone he’d ever worked with knew this, and said so - frequently.
If independent audits of the tuckshop books showed a pattern of relentless misuse of funds.
Would you let him keep running the tuckshop?
#auspol Cling to the notion of a Royal Family if you must, but they are are collectively corrupt, dopey, grossly entitled, right wing snobs, believing in the right to rule and abuse. The Queen had a hand in the dismissal of a legitimate AU govt. Andrew an exemplar.
Charles, ha!
Finland voted happiest nation by UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network.
According to their PM, it is b/c of three things:
1. equality.
2. a well-funded education system.
3. a strong welfare state.
Australia currently pushing down on all three.
Many are not happy.
