When I hear case studies of teams adopting #ShapeUp, it's often someone in a leadership role bringing it up, coordinating the first trial, and advocating for a change in how the teams work.

I really enjoyed hearing @cboakes' story, because it's one of an individual contributor bringing about change, seeing opportunities for improvement, and passionately going after them.

From personal experience, I know there are a lot of ICs in engineering, product, and design who are fans of Shape Up and would love to give it a shot. Maybe you all feel encouraged to take a page out of Chris' playbook, which he spills in today's episode! 😏

In the latest episode of the Shapers & Builders podcast, David walked me through the implementation of Shape Up at ROI Hunter. I love how David frames his personal North Star as "Building an engineering culture that's so good that he'd happily step back into an individual contributor role tomorrow".

What resonated a lot with me was how David mentioned that he can never imagine going back to Scrum or Kanban after having worked with Shape Up now. It's the exact same reason why I built the Shapers & Builders job board in 2020 after store2be got shut down, where I'd worked with Shape Up.
