The children were delighted and amazed to experience their first Christmas as did not know what Christmas was and why people celebrate Christmas. Some even compared Christmas to Eid celebrations and found similarities.

As part of the integration plan share my voice women group we have taken the women group participants and families to the lRN BRU carnival and Christmas markets, for almost all of them this was their first experience since they were recently evacuated from Afghanistan.

The Taliban have used barbed wire and armed guards to prevent Afghan women from entering universities. Yet, despite the intimidation, they protest alongside brave Afghan men, demanding women and girls be given their basic rights

We are delighted that our Afghan women's group is up and running in the Whiteinch centre every Sunday from 1 until 3pm. This group is a place for women to meet, and be empowered with knowledge of their rights and entitlements.
