If MEN who indulge in Zina or Pornography lowered their gaze, exercised restraint and stopped pursuing unlawful relationships, many more WOMEN would be married.
Free access to illegal sex is not a women-only issue. It takes two to tango. Yet somehow, the burden of preserving chastity is always placed almost entirely on the sisters. Are brothers rabid dogs who when it gets to the issue of sex have no control or autonomy over their desires?
Dear brother in Islam, be too chaste to cheapen yourself, too God-fearing to consume women as though they exist merely to satisfy your desires.
The command to guard one’s chastity was revealed FIRST to men, THEN women.
Hold yourself to the same standard you demand of others.
Let’s always endeavor to make a balanced naseeha. Awon Obinrin ma wa daran o
Michael Johnson might be getting all the sticks (and deservedly so), but there were journalists who actively hounded Tobi Amusan, writing articles that tried to discredit her.
Even fellow athletes contributed to the level of scrutiny Tobi faced after that record.
Because MJ had to even quote Cindy Ofili-Sember as saying in the mixed zone, "I thoroughly (thought) I was running slow..." when he doubted if the timer was accurate.
She ran a British record of 12.50s, and then 12.38s in the final. Before that semis, her PB was 12.53s, so why would people think 0.03 was such a big leap?
To journalists like Jonathan Gault and Cathal Dennehy - those ones wrote articles questioning the shoes she ran with, and were the first to amplify the AIU incident, thinking it would stick. I remember Jonathan even questioning if the wind gauge picked up midway in the race (semis).
Cathal in Budapest, caused a scene in the mixed zone when he interrupted my interview with Tobi, asking her about the AIU suspension.
It didn't end there, he wrote an article calling me "a fan with a smartphone," one for standing up to him, and also for using my voice as a Nigerian journalist to speak up for Tobi. Maybe he felt World Athletics shouldn't accredit me for subsequent World Champs.
The witchhunt Tobi has faced is because she is Nigerian. I have seen her (African Games 2024) go through an arduous length to update her whereabouts, despite the then AFN Secretary (Rita Mosindi) sending an email of where all the Nigerian athletes can be found and their room numbers in Accra.
There was an internet outage in Ghana for about 4days, but Tobi knowing what she had faced to clear her name in 2023, was driven for hours until she got stable network to update her portal. She couldn't rely solely on AFN's email, because if a system is out to get you, they won't stop until they do.
Suddenly, 12.1s looks attainable because it's not a Nigerian running it now.
I agree with you that the track community owe that girl an apology.... "let the apology be as loud as the doubt."
🗣️ “In 2022, when she ran fast, everyone had an opinion…now that the times have filled in these last few years since Eugene, suddenly that world record is legit.”
After Masai Russell’s blazing start to 2026, @TheRealMerb makes the case that it’s time to make amends with Tobi Amusan, whose 100m hurdles world record at the 2022 World Championships got buried under doubt and controversy instead of being celebrated.

A friend of mine lost someone very close to her yesterday.
She told me they buried her the same day, according to Islamic rites.
When she came back, she couldn’t keep quiet…
She sat down and started telling me everything.
She said when they lowered her friend into the grave, nothing went with him.
Not even a pin.
She was placed on her right side, inside a narrow space… so tight, no extra inch.
My friend said as they covered her with planks and the first sand touched it, something hit her deeply.
She stood there watching…
Sand after sand…
The grave getting darker…
Yet her friend did not move.
Did not speak.
Did not complain.
“That was when it dawned on me,” she said,
“That this is truly the end of this life.”
She told me his heart was heavy, but instead of crying, his mind was questioning everything.
“If this is how we all end,” she asked me,
“why are we chasing what we cannot take with us?”
“Why hurting people?”
“Why doing wrong just to make money?”
“Why living like this world is forever?”
Then she said something that I cannot forget:
“As we were leaving, they told us to dig another grave… to replace the one we just used.”
She paused… then looked at me and said,
“That grave is already waiting…
And the person that will enter it is somewhere on this earth right now — walking, laughing, planning… not knowing their place is ready.”
Since she told me this, I have not been the same.
Indeed… every soul shall taste death.
So before that moment comes,
return to your Creator.may Allah forgive all the departed Muslim and may we end well
Day 30! And so it ends.. Ya Allah plz let this not be our last one.. I hope even you can see you’re not addicted to anything.. You’ve been able to prove to yourself you can stop doing something’s when u really put ur mind to it.. Try ur best to continue with this discipline.. e no easy but try..
1. Career-wise, children should not be encouraged to “follow their passion.” Orchestrate their paths for them; parents know better.
2. Your first child is not an assistant parent in any way. Do not overburden them with responsibilities.
3. As parents, when you take a stance on something against your kids, your partner must support you. You cannot say no to movies and then have your spouse allow it or plead on behalf of the children. There must be unity.
4. Parents should not always be friends with their children. Sometimes fear is necessary.
5. Parents should model every lifestyle they want their kids to emulate. Don’t just talk; live the talks. Be the example you want them to follow.
6. No matter how rich you are, sometimes allow your children to experience the harshness of life early to prepare them for adulthood.
7. You have failed as a parent if you are raising obese children. Strict diets and exercise habits should start young, even if unpopular.
8. Boys should be taught toughness early, and girls should be taught independence.
9. Kids should earn privileges, not receive them automatically because of age.
10. Not every child deserves equal treatment; some need more discipline than others.
11. Giving children too much freedom at a young age is reckless.
12. Children should not always be rewarded for participation; winning matters.
13. Teaching children about “self-esteem” first can produce narcissists.
14. Telling children they are “special” all the time sets them up for disappointment.
Kids do not need endless praise. Too much praise can stunt resilience.
15. Children should be disciplined publicly sometimes to teach shame and social awareness.
16. Gender roles exist for a reason. Ignoring them can confuse children. A boy and girl should not be raised the same way, especially when it comes to chores.
17. Kids should not always get new toys or gifts for good behavior; it teaches manipulation.
18. Parents who prioritize kids’ happiness over discipline are doing them a disservice.
19. Parents who excuse bad behavior because “they are children” are failing them.
20. Teach them about sex education. Teach them that if someone touches them inappropriately, they should report it to you.

“TWO BALLERS, ONE FLAG”
(A Win For Ademola Is Not A Loss For Osimhen)
Ademola Lookman’s debut for Atlético Madrid was outstanding and should be enjoyed for exactly what it was, a brilliant individual performance. Yet somehow, instead of pure celebration, it’s being twisted into an excuse to take shots at Victor Osimhen. That part is baffling.
Nigeria is fortunate to have players of this quality representing us at the highest level. Still, every opportunity seems to turn into a moment to laugh at Osimhen’s setbacks or pit one success against another. That mindset helps no one.
Celebrate Ademola on his own merit and leave Osimhen out of it. He isn’t struggling, he remains Nigeria’s biggest football star, and he is the one truly world-class player in our current squad.
Personal opinions aside, no serious football conversation can list the world’s top strikers and ignore Victor Osimhen.
Great nations celebrate their stars, they don’t set them against each other.
WE CAN DO BETTER, LET’S DO BETTER!

A word of advice as you try to clean your heart from grudges on this middle night of Shaaban.
The best of you is the one that starts with Salaam. So extend peace.
If the other person isn’t ready to reconcile, make sure your last message is one that shows the door remains open once they’re ready.
Be quick to apologize, quick to forgive.
Your Lord will fill the gaps. May Allah purify our hearts before Ramadan, and unite us in Paradise for eternity.

I rewatched this video again after seeing it earlier in a hurry. This time, I slowed down and paid attention. There are lessons inside it that are easy to miss if you’re only watching with emotion.
A few years ago, I had two cousins in different universities. Whenever school resumed, mid-semester, or exams were close, I tried to send them something. Life no too easy, but man still dey try show love.
Over time, I noticed a clear difference between them. One would send a WhatsApp chat or text message saying “Seen. Thank you, uncle. God bless” and that was it. The other would text, send a WhatsApp message, and still call. The next morning, she’d text again to appreciate me. After a few days or weeks, she’d message again, praying for me and reminding me how grateful she was.
I won’t lie, it touched me. Na blood dey my veins. No be engine oil. Lol.
I no go even know when my hand go press her extra 2k for no reason. No emergency. No request. Just her appreciation in my head.
That’s the power of gratitude.
Now look at this video again. Not with pity. Look with sense. The boy and his mum are soaked in gratitude. That’s why the first video moved people. That’s why help multiplied. People don’t just respond to need. They respond to appreciation. When people see that you value small help, they feel safe doing more.
Grateful people don’t beg twice. Their attitude speaks ahead of them.
Don’t be that person who receives help and behaves like it’s normal, like it’s your right. People are always watching, even when you think they aren’t. Gratitude opens doors you didn’t knock on.
If gratitude is not natural to you yet, learn it. If you can’t learn it yet, manage it. Even pretending is better than entitlement.
Because sometimes, what keeps help coming is not your situation, but how you received the last one.
God no go shame us.
