The Vice President, Senator @KashimSM, has implored state governments to accelerate business-enabling reforms to unlock the full potential of the $750 million World Bank-assisted State Action on Business Enabling Reforms (SABER) programme.
This, he said, has become necessary to attract domestic and global capital, enhance local infrastructure, and drive subnational economic growth.
Senator @KashimSM, who spoke on Tuesday during a stakeholder meeting on optimising the implementation of the SABER programme at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, noted that a fully implemented SABER programme would help create a more predictable and transparent business environment.
He also listed other benefits of the programme to include attracting domestic and foreign investment, strengthening private-sector confidence, reducing the cost of doing business, expanding digital and physical infrastructure, improving access to land and commercial justice systems, and enhancing the competitiveness of the states.
“These outcomes will translate into increased economic activity, higher productivity, job creation, improved internally generated revenue, and better living standards for our citizens,” he stated.
The Vice President, Senator @KashimSM has applauded the donation of specialised communication equipment to the National Emergency Management Agency (@nemanigeria) by renowned satellite internet service provider, @Starlink.
He described Nigeria’s partnership with @SpaceX’s @Starlink, one of the world’s largest satellite internet constellations, in enhancing emergency and disaster management in Nigeria as a collaboration that would improve NEMA’s response time and effective coordination, which he noted “is vital in emergency interventions in the country”.
Senator @KashimSM stated this in Abuja on Tuesday when he received, on a courtesy visit to the Presidential Villa, a delegation comprising the technical team from NEMA and SpaceX, led by the Director-General of NEMA, Hajiya @TheZubaidaUmar.
According to the Vice President, communication is the essence of humanity, and during periods of emergencies and flood disasters, partnerships with Starlink can come in handy.
The Federal Government of Nigeria and the World Intellectual Property Organization (@WIPO) have agreed to actively deepen collaboration to turn the nation’s intellectual property (IP) into tangible financial assets.
The target is to commercialise research from Nigerian universities and support the creative economy through stronger technical cooperation, deeper institutional support, and expanded capacity-building, among others.
This was the outcome of a meeting between the Vice President @KashimSM, a delegation from @WIPO led by its Director-General, Mr Daren Tang, and top Nigerian government officials at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Categorically, the Vice President drew the @WIPO delegation’s attention to Nigeria’s unmistakable ambition, which he said is to build an “intellectual property system that serves the inventor and the investor, the researcher and the entrepreneur, the artiste and the industrialist, the farmer and the software engineer”.
He welcomed the decision by @WIPO to strengthen its presence in Abuja, its office in Nigeria being one of WIPO’s external offices worldwide.
He recalled that the Federal Executive Council had in November 2025 approved the National Intellectual Property Policy and Strategy “to provide Nigeria with its first comprehensive framework for the development, protection, promotion, management, and commercialisation of intellectual property.”
According to VP @KashimSM, there couldn’t have been a better time to take a deeper view of a nation whose creative and innovative energies are already shaping Africa and speaking to the world.
Congratulations Madaki! @Abdulrahmanleme.
May the Almighty grant you wisdom and success as you carry this noble responsibility.
Muna taya ka murna, Allah ya kara maka daraja, ameen.
If you are driving within Abuja at night, make sure your Central lock is always active.
If you are driving without AC,make sure your glasses are up to the level that a finger cannot enter fully.
This is not the time to be giving strangers a lift at night,I know you are a good person, but safety first please.
When you stop at a traffic light, always be at alert, your eyes should be on your surroundings, always watch your rear view mirror to see what's happening behind you.
Thank you,don't mention.
Before departing for Lagos today, where he led Governors from across the Federation to the Eid al-Adha luncheon and traditional Sallah homage to President @officialABAT, Vice President @KashimSM paid a courtesy visit to the Shehu of Borno, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Dr. Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Al-Amin El-Kanemi.
The visit reflected the Vice President’s abiding respect for the traditional institution and its enduring role in promoting unity, stability, and cultural values in society.
