It says we don’t want to tolerate violence and sexual assault, and that we will remove those that commit it from society, so they can’t harm others. Fantastic. Far better they stay in jail for life than hurt one more person.
Crime isn’t fungible, if the person is locked up, another person doesn’t just step in and fill the violence gap.
If we locked up the 5000 most violent offenders for life, Nz would be a far better place.

My number one voting concern is maintaining the existing demographic makeup of NZ. The absolute arrogance of National’s immigration stance means they have lost my vote after 7 successive ticks for National.
The general population want greatly reduced immigration, and politicians of all countries seem to have this ill conceived idea they know better than the people. It’s so easy to win us back - do what we want and don’t think you know better than us.
