Sources said the purchase proposal will now be taken up for clearance at the level of the Defence Minister Rajnath Singh when he chairs the next Defence Acquisition Council, the apex decision making body of the MoD. The Cabinet Committee on Security, chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to give a final nod.
India and France are looking to seal the deal for the jets in February when a meeting is scheduled between Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron.
The Rafale deal will not impact India's plans to make the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) and the Light Combat Aircraft Tejas Mark-2, said sources. The AMCA is fifth Generation plane. The Tejas Mark-2 is planned to be multi-system upgrade over the existing order of 180 Tejas Mark-1A jets the MoD has placed with public sector plane maker Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. All the indigenous jets , their time line and budgeting has been planned separate from the 114 Rafale.
In September last year the Indian Air Force had moved a formal proposal to the Ministry of Defence seeking 114 more Rafale fighter jets as part of its multi-pronged plan to add more number of jets.
The IAF based its choice on multiple reasons. First, it already flies 36 Rafale jets, while the Navy has ordered 26 marine‑variants of the same jet. Increasing numbers would reduce maintenance costs. A Rafale flight‑training and Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility is operational at the IAF base in Ambala. The IAF has the capacity – the space, spares, tooling and trained manpower — to immediately take-in two squadrons (some 36-38 planes).87
@Raveen64@Bipsthukral@sherryontopp Truly heartbreaking to know the young girl lost her life! More power to Mam! We need more sane voices than people tooting their horns on what worked for them and should be taken as something written in stone from now on!
The man, the legend that Mr Ratan Tata was! Very few business tycoons get the kind of respect, love and admiration in one lifetime that he earned overtime. India and Indians will miss you sorely Mr Tata.
You have victory in your name #Vinesh! Born to vvin! You are gold, solid gold! You only lost a chance to VVin! Lose the weight of them trolls, of those who want to see you fail! Come back stronger, lighter and show them how it’s done🥇
There we go again! I have six of these from the past four days. And no one has showed up or has given any clarity on the so called appointment. All the thrust is on getting new customers I presume so existing ones are left to dry on their own😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
@Sharma21Smriti Hi Smriti, this is not what we want you to experience. Not to worry, an appointment for your Relocation has already been scheduled. The engineer will visit within 30 minutes of the appointment time - Aahil
How to get my refund from @reliancejio . Their customer care is worst than IRCTC website! No way to reach out to any human on the other end of the line and their IVR service hides the customer care executive so well that I doubt they have any! No response on order: CO00015AEKR2
The worst customer care @reliancejio. I scheduled a relocation of @jiofibre three days ago and I am told no engineer is available till March 12. I guess all are busy preparing for the wedding in July! #worst#network. Switching to @airtelindia . Bye bye @reliancejio

Sadly, yes! Call it a marketing gimmick but this is what it has come down to. The country has been starkly divided between those who conform and.. never mind!!
@bbluntindia Had I known what a fraud company you are, I would have not bothered placing an order online. Now that I know you take your customers for a ride, I am letting the world know it too! No customer care, no redressal of queries, no clue of a prepaid package! FRAUD FIRM😡
Agrarian Punjab’s fascination for tractor stunts and tractor tochan (tug of war) that had caught fancy in last few years is set for a sudden demise as state govt bans dangerous stunts on tractors!!
While I do agree that there were many Event Management related problems in the Bengaluru show for @Trevornoah .. there is something known as a "Soundcheck" and "Venue recce" that every responsible and caring artist caries out before a show.
If Trevor Noah really bothered about his ticket purchasing fans, then he would have made it a point to arrive earlier in the day (or previous night) and personally carried out a reconnaissance of the venue, tested out his microphone and ensured that the sound was optimum. I am sure he does that at other prestigious venues all over the world, and I am shocked to realize he did not bother to do this in Bengaluru. This is the artists responsibility. Every artist/comedian/band has personal sound requirements and preferences.. and to just show up for the event, without even checking your sound is hugely irresponsible. It was the audience that got punished in the process.. audiences that paid money and travelled to experience him.
If Trevor wanted screens as he mentioned in his Mumbai rant, then he should have asked for them, given specifications. If he wanted a specific venue, he should have asked for it.
When Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Beyonce, Black Eyed Peas, Iron Maiden, Bryan Adams, Metallica, Symphony Orchestras, Russel Peters, etc. have had super successful events in Bengaluru, why is Bengaluru being trashed now?
YANNI had performed in the EXACT SAME VENUE in 2014.. and the sound and experience was fantastic, because Yanni worked with everyone involved to deliver a spectacular concert. Yanni cared about his fans. Trevor also attributed this incident to "India" as a whole, which is in very bad taste. This is definitely a case of terrible event management, but more importantly a very complacent and irresponsible artist with a complete disregard for his paying fans (and India).. who blames everyone and everything but himself.
It’s deplorable that PM Modi cannot even allow our scientists to be the main focus on such a significant day & chooses to hog the limelight instead.
A phone call doesn’t need to be publicly broadcast. He could’ve very well just made the call privately & congratulated the scientists.
But no - he has to make a public show of it. And even worse - he ensured that TV channels kept showing his face during the landing of Chandrayaan instead of having the spotlight on our scientists.
Modi’s desperation to always make himself the central focus reeks of an immense inferiority complex.
PM Modi - please show some dignity & leave our scientists & our Armed Forces jawans out of your election campaigning.
