@Chathurangaab Congratulations- you and your team are demonstrably advancing and strengthening the ecosystem for industry growth where needed. Don’t stop.
Yesterday, I visited parliament and sat in the gallery as a citizen, to watch president @anuradisanayake deliver the government’s policy statement.
It was a unifying, ambitious and stirring speech, and for that the president must be commended. I particularly agree with his words on governance, IMF, national harmony, and debt restructuring.
However, there are many challenges ahead, especially on the economic front. Therefore, it's important to make the plans in the policy statement a reality. I wish him the best in that endeavour.
@crysxkoel Vraie won her electorate. She had more votes (44k) than opposition members who made it.
With the P R System the NPP got 14 of the 18 seats even though they won all seats in the district. Vraie and Ketape were ranked 15th & 16th, unfortunately did not make it.
Our new age politicians- are real people just like you and me. Feet planted on the ground. Building the future for the children of Sri Lanka, and not kicking the problem forward to them to sort.
Prepare to work. Contribute to the change.
Final post before the election, we fought against the odds. To regain the right for our children to live in this nation. There is no other purpose but to put the country first
@kavindya_T @kirankgrewal I hope most of women will include 2 female candidates into their choices. I think the women coming forward are all solid candidates.
This will add some weight to build a balance in parliament.
3.
And to the men I appeal - how about 1 preference for a woman for change and to honor the women in your life.
Let’s make our country more equitable.
🙏🏾
Ladies,
An appeal.
Whichever party you vote for - please mark at least 2 of your preference votes for the women candidates.
We need to get at a least 30 / 40 women from across the country in parliament.
2.
Just like we push our weight with our economic countribution in the apparel / plantations and remittance industries; let’s add our weight in having more women contributing to legislation and governance.
For Sri Lanka. Women can make their vote count for change.
The experience @Chathurangaab gained as a leader in a company that competed with the world adds value in his contribution to Sri Lanka.
We need more “professionally experienced and qualified “ political representatives for our country to change and grow.
In December 2021, I gave my first speech on a political platform. At that time, we clearly identified the problems and believed that the people would understand them too. The data we shared was from before the economic collapse, and since then, we’ve worked incredibly hard, united as one team, always believing in the people’s ability to drive change.
We understood the problem, addressed the root causes, and implemented solutions with deliberate action. With our heads down, we focused on our roles, and as a result, the team continued to grow.
This victory wasn’t something spontaneous; in 2021, we planned for it. The change we’re seeing now is real, and it’s the result of long-term, strategic effort.

I hope to see nominations of between 30% to 50% of women by each party for each district - A must if we are serious about getting 75 to 100 women into Parliment.
And why not?
And the people have to do their bit too.
We could shoot for this goal if every woman determines to give her preferences to 2 women and 1 man.
And every man to give his preference to 2 men and 1 woman.
