@CoastalQuine1@JPTi_J4Ai A banal and senseless act of stupidity has happened. We delivered everything within our mandate and far more. Their decision came entirely without warning, without discussion, and without any attempt at clarification. They issued a letter of termination abruptly.
JPTi facilitated the participation of Scottish civil society in the UN Fourth Committee! This pivotal moment marks a significant step for Scotland on the global stage. Read more here: https://t.co/UUDgSA7aOm #unitednations#jpti#decolonization#ScottishIndependence#scotland
JPTi welcomes and commends the recent statement by the @UN Human Rights Council-appointed experts, known as the UN Special Procedures Mandate Holders (@UN_SPExperts), regarding the persecution of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, as shared by @UNGeneva on 2 October 2025.
“Freedom of thought, conscience and religion is non-derogable, even in times of armed conflict,” the experts affirmed, recalling Article 18 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) and General Comment No. 22. “Furthermore, national security is not grounds for limiting manifestation of this freedom.”
Among the signatories, we note with appreciation:
- George Katrougalos (@gkatr), UN Independent Expert on the promotion of a democratic and equitable international order;
- Nicolas Levrat, UN Special Rapporteur on Minority Issues;
- Nazila Ghanea (@NazilaGhanea), UN Special Rapporteur on freedom of religion or belief;
- Ben Saul (@profbensaul), UN Special Rapporteur on human rights and counter-terrorism;
- Gina Romero (@Ginitastar), UN Special Rapporteur on the rights to freedom of peaceful assembly and of association.
This development follows from our intervention: on 11 February 2025, JPTi submitted a complaint documenting systematic persecution — including arbitrary arrests of clergy, unlawful seizures of religious properties, and criminalization of Christian liturgical practices under “national security” pretexts. On 14 May 2025, the official communication was transmitted by seven UN Rapporteurs (AL UKR 1/2025) to the Government of Ukraine.
In parallel, on 30 August 2025, JPTi transmitted its Briefing Note on the Systematic, Ongoing, and Egregious Persecution of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (#UOC) to the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom, calling on @USCIRF to act decisively by convening hearings on Ukraine’s Law No. 8371 and to urge the designation of Ukraine as a Country of Particular Concern (CPC).
JPTi extends special thanks to Tucker Carlson (@TCNetwork) and Robert Amsterdam (@robertamsterdam) for their commitment to raising international awareness of the persecution of Christians and for amplifying the plight of Christians, including those belonging to the Eastern Orthodox Church, facing systemic repression.
Our action, which prompted this UN Statement, underscores @JPTi_J4Ai commitment to defending Article 18 ICCPR and protecting Christians facing persecution and repression.

📢 On 2 September 2025, Justice pour Tous Internationale (JPTi) highlights alarming evidence of systematic persecution of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), institutionalized under Ukraine’s Law No. 8371.
On 30 August 2025, JPTi submitted its “Briefing Note on the Systematic, Ongoing, and Egregious Persecution of the UOC” to @USCIRF.
👉 In its note, JPTi calls for:
1) A dedicated hearing on the persecution of Christians in Ukraine—comparable to USCIRF’s upcoming “Laws Regulating Religion in Central Asia” session.
2) The U.S. State Department to designate Ukraine as a Country of Particular Concern (CPC) for systematic, ongoing, and egregious violations of religious freedom.
Despite extensive evidence of systematic persecution—including Human Rights Watch (30.10.24) and media investigations such as @TuckerCarlson’s interviews with @BobAmsterdam and @novynskyi—USCIRF did not address Ukraine in its 2025 Annual Report, underscoring the urgent need for hearings.
UN Special Rapporteurs (AL UKR 1/2025), Human Rights Watch, and JPTi have documented arbitrary arrests, property seizures, citizenship revocations, and the criminalization of faith—clear violations of Article 18 ICCPR, a non-derogable right.

@elonmusk USAID has been instrumental in funding programs that aligned with governments actively suppressing the Orthodox Church. FAA and IRFA make it clear that U.S. aid should not support the persecution of religious communities.

@Alfreddezayas It was a director of Amnesty’s Ukrainian office. She resigned because the AI refused her demand to withdraw and trash the report. HQ stands its ground.
The answer is obvious neither anyone like Zeid or Bachelet. Both failed their tasks by lacking of impartiality. The new High Commissioner must be cable of speaking up to stop war-hammer rhetorics in support of diplomatic solution, arms supply and ignorance of use of human shields
In this case, it is logical that any unilateral measures taken against Russia must not lead to collective punishment as IHL requires due diligence and applies distinction, proportionality, military necessity, and Martens Clause tests for every measure.
