Talk Media’s local online publications won five awards at this year’s @FLPressClub Club event on February 1 in Ocala, Florida.

I was also fortunate enough to receive five awards this year, including two for Talk Media: a first place honor in the general news category and a third place award in the public safety writing category.

I also took home three awards for my work as a staff writer at The Miami Times. Those honors included a first place award for minority news coverage, as well as second place awards in the community news and environmental news categories.

I feel so blessed to have worked with and be surrounded by such a talented team of journalists.
