@MrsAdeVilliers Another Surprise-Chapter 9! Q1: I learned that providing scaffolds actually increases the assessment's validity. Q2: I will implement the Formative Assessment Action Plan Template. It'll help me plan a more effective assessment for my kiddos. :)
@MrsAdeVilliers Surprise! 8A1: Making sure to write a question using academic language that has been previously modeled. 8A2: Modeling multiple types of questioning & verifying that they understand what is being asked.
6A3: Using visuals with descriptions helps all levels of proficiency. I always have technology accessible for a quick clarification picture or description for my kiddos. #usestallions
6A1: I like movement, so dramatic representation seems interesting. The kiddos would definitely remember the meanings. However, the Interactive Word Wall is always a winner, too. #usestallions
#usestallions 5A2: Communication with teacher regarding content focus in order to build background and possibly solidify understanding. Super Specials collaboration time is critical for communication between content, ESOL, & IST regarding students' academic needs.
#usestallions As my kiddos Reading Levels increase, the lack of background knowledge (and figurative language) halts comprehension. Constant word building and using the words in a sentence to practice & develop understanding.
#usestallions 4Q1: Teaching body language norms for discussions and modeling from the start. Our "Center Stage Story Map" discussions support my ELs as well as their peers.
