At @temple, one of our missions is to become the ultimate wearable for elite performance athletes.
And today, let's start with the basics: Heart Rate (HR).
You would think accurate HR tracking is a solved problem. It is not. Especially in zones 4 & 5, which matter to professional athletes the most.
To see whether Temple is the most accurate wearable on something as basic as HR, we gave ourselves a high bar to aspire to. A Polar H10 chest strap, taped to the chest. Taped, because worn the usual way, straps lose contact mid-sprint and miss beats. We benchmarked five flagship wearables against that reference, from rest to max effort, second by second.
All the other leading wearables were well behind Temple in our study. Apple Watch Series 12 came closest. Temple also beat the untaped chest strap, the industry's benchmark, in zones 4 and 5.
Why does Temple win? Two reasons.
1. Temple uses adhesive, so its lab condition is its wear condition. You'll experience our study outcomes in real life.
2. The location. Your temple sits right over a major artery, and it's the one patch of skin that doesn't clamp down its blood flow when you go hard. We tested the same sensor at four body sites. The temple was the most accurate of the four.
Charts attached.
Accurate HR makes Temple better at so much more downstream. More soon.
The full paper and data are live right now at https://t.co/ovabS2dvnY, and an extended study by independent researchers is underway.
We invite further independent replication in more conditions, and will fund it. Write to us at [email protected]
Hey @grok, can 1 year of healthy living undo 15 years of unhealthy habits?
A 40-year-old dad spent 15 years eating poorly, rarely exercising, and carrying excess body fat.
He commits to 12 months of exercise, whole foods, and better sleep.
How much damage can he reverse? Use science.
First time ever wrapping anything, total DIY project. It took about 22 hrs over 2 days.
This PET chrome vinyl has a thin foil-like layer that gives it the mirror finish, but it creases super easy so you really gotta take your time.
I saved the doors for last and ended up with a bad crease 😩 spent 2 hrs trying to fix it with no luck, so now I'm re-ordering 1 door panel lol
Highly recommend having a friend help with this one 👌🏽
Overall for my first time I think it came out pretty nice. I'm happy with it 😎
Got married in 2015 with totally 50 family members to witness the wedding.
Intimate wedding, low budget. Invested money in shares instead.

Showing up in your own skin, wherever the day takes you ✨ Every rep, every meal prep, every early morning is why this feels good.
What's one habit that's boosted your confidence the most? And what keeps you motivated when your routine gets thrown off?

My parents are ready to spend their entire life savings on a big wedding just to impress relatives we barely even know.
Honestly, starting a new life together with empty bank accounts just for a two day party makes zero sense.
Is asking for a simple court marriage a smart move, or is it selfish to ruin your parents' big dream?
He was taking up the whole bench with his legs out and the woman barely brushed past him mid-set in a busy gym and he had a full meltdown. This is why women feel watched and unwelcome in the gym😒.

a man just called the store to accuse me of hitting his car in the mall parking garage yesterday with a company car and i had to be like uh sir i don’t have my license
Never buy a used car without these five checks. Number four is the one dealers hate.
1. Find the date tag on the seat belt. Now match it to the door sticker.
Different dates? The belt was replaced. That usually means a crash.
2. Engine running. Pop the oil cap.
Smoke pouring out. Worn rings. Walk away.
3. Flashlight under the dash on the steering column.
Rust down here means the car sat in water.
4. Pull this little cover on the side of the dash. Tool marks on the bolt.
Someone pulled the dash. Usually because the airbags went off.
5. Check the date on the headlights.
If it is newer than the car, the front end got hit.
Save this before you buy.
