Last weekend, 21 Sharon student-musicians performed in the 2022 SEMSBA music festival. While there, students got a chance to perform high level music, while meeting others from neighboring towns. Congratulations to these talented students on all of their accomplishments!
This past weekend, Sharon students participated in the SEMMEA JR districts festival. This festival introduces students to the experience of high school level musical competitions. Congratulations to these students on their incredible accomplishments!
On March 5th, 11 student-musicians performed at the MMEA Massachusetts All-State Festival. While at there, students learned new, challenging pieces, while also meeting new people and learning new things. Congratulations to these students on their accomplishments!
Current SHS Students: As you select courses for next year, consider taking a music class! There are many ways to get involved, so ask your friends questions about what their experience with music at SHS has been like, and we hope you will be a part of our music program next year!
Last week, concert chorus members got to work with composer Moira Smiley on her piece "I have a Voice". Moira gave students lots of context into why she wrote the piece, and students learned about body percussion, tone quality, and contemporary singing techniques.
This past weekend, seven SHS vocal students participated in the ACDA Eastern Region Honors Choir in Boston. These singers got the opportunity to learn from a number of nationally renowned conductors. Congratulations on all of your accomplishments and achievements!

Today, Tri-M members got to talk to Mr. Michael Korn, a local orchestral director, and discuss many topics, including repertoire selection and general ensemble environments. Thank you so much to Mr. Korn for his time and expertise!
In preparation for course selection, Tri-M members write and decorate letters to current eighth graders encouraging the incoming freshman to continue to be a part of the Sharon Public Schools Music Department!
Interested in learning more about select choir? Come to the info session tomorrow during eagle block! The select choir learns complex music and performs at community buildings around town, as well as at music festivals!
We are very excited to induct our new members and officers, as well as renew and welcome back our returning members! Be sure to join us and support your fellow classmates and musicians!
