I’ve been thinking more and more that newsrooms need to hold an all-staff meeting where they invite democracy experts & historians in & really do a massive reset of how we are covering what’s happening in our country right now. It’s not about partisanship but covering reality.
@davidmweissman I have asked Randy Fine for examples of CRT in Math textbooks that Brevard County did not approve. I have heard nothing. Do you think I will?

This may be an unpopular post but I did just read portions of the book Push. I really am wondering why this book should be available to 13 to 18 year olds without instruction. Am I wrong?
@olivers1999@NoLieWithBTC@MiamiHerald I actually just had an intelligent conversation with a concerned parent here in Florida. The novel Push was the conversation. I read it and saw the movie Precious. I can understand why she is concerned about her 13 year old checking out this book from the school library.
Still stuck on the fact that billionaires have enough money to go to space and buy entire social media platforms, while the rest of us are left wondering if the cost of insulin will be the thing that does us in.
The diff between the left & right is that while Biden presides over worldwide inflation, Dems are TRYING to lower costs (suspend gas tax, cap insulin costs, free childcare, lower drug prices-- all blocked by GOP). But Abbott PURPOSEFULLY created a logjam that sent prices soaring.
Greg Abbott ensured that $240 million worth of fruits and vegetables would spoil and that consumers from El Paso to Seattle would foot the bill because he decided to create a logjam at the border. When you're paying higher prices for the next few weeks, you have Abbott to thank.
