If you or someone you know is experiencing symptoms of fistula, here is how to get to Kenyatta National Hospital, Clinic 66, where a free fistula camp is currently ongoing. The camp offers free screenings, free admissions, and in some cases free surgery for those who need it. There is absolutely no shame in seeking help. Fistula is a medical condition that can affect any woman, and the most important step is choosing treatment and care. Friday 22nd May is the last day!

Today, I joined the Ministry of Health @MOH_Kenya, Kenyatta National Hospital @KNH_hospital, healthcare workers, development partners, survivors, and advocates in commemorating the International Day to End Obstetric Fistula at Kenyatta National Hospital.

The survivor testimonies shared today were deeply moving and reminded us that obstetric fistula is not just a medical condition ;it is a dignity, mental health, and human rights issue.

No woman should suffer in silence simply because she brought life into this world.

I commend the Ministry of Health for its continued efforts to strengthen maternal healthcare, expand treatment sites, train healthcare workers, and increase community awareness across the country.

I also applaud all partners, including M-PESA Foundation, UNFPA, AMREF Health Africa, Fistula Foundation, Flying Doctors Society of Africa, @SharonKorir18, Save a Woman Fistula Foundation @Sawff_org, and many others working tirelessly to restore hope, healing, and dignity to affected women.

Today’s message was clear:
Fistula is preventable.
Fistula is treatable.
Healing is possible.

Let us continue creating awareness, fighting stigma, and ensuring that no woman in Kenya is left behind.
