Our intrepid Year 4 students stayed the night at Taronga Zoo for an exciting Roar and Snore experience! They enjoyed feeding time with the animals, heard fascinating stories from the zoo keepers, and did a night walk around the enclosures - all topped off by a good night's sleep!
We were delighted to welcome very special visitors to the Junior School for Grandparents' Morning, where, after a song-filled Liturgy, the classrooms were on display for the students to proudly share their learning. Afterwards, a social cuppa in the playground was enjoyed by all.
After Mass in the Chapel, our Mary Ward Connect visitors enjoyed a heartwarming visit to the Junior School classrooms. After a very successful three day visit, we farewelled students and staff from Loreto Marryatville and Toorak. @LoretoToorak
At Junior School Assembly, our School Captains introduced the 2023 School mascot, Joy the Justice Jellyfish. Along with House points and Spirit Awards, our champion swimmers were awarded their ribbons, and Semester 1 Student Representative Councillors received their badges.
Our Kindergarten students commenced their Loreto Kirribilli journey with a Bright Start, a fun and carefully curated one-on-one session where teacher and student get to know each other with play-based learning and conversation.
We extend the warmest of welcomes to our 2023 Kindergarten families, as our youngest students stepped through the gates for their first day of school, to be greeted by their Year 6 buddies. Parents enjoyed a cup of tea and a catch up afterwards.
Our Junior and Senior VEX Robotics teams competed in the final State tournament for 2022, putting their robot building, driving and coding skills to the test, achieving excellent rankings, a Judges' Award for Persistence, and a Senior team qualifying for Nationals! Well done!
Our Loreto Kirribilli community enjoyed a starry night of dinner, dancing and connection at the Parents & Friends' Sparkle into Summer Ball held at Luna Park's Crystal Ballroom.
Congratulations to our Petite Voices who performed as part of the combined choir for over 700 primary school Principals at the opening of the Australian Primary Principals' Association 2022 Conference.
In an action-packed Junior School Assembly, Environment Leaders shared their progress this term, our Garden Club team made a special appearance, and the Speech and Drama students gave some very entertaining performances!
The Junior School Petite Voices ensemble visited Strathfield North Primary School for a special combined rehearsal for their upcoming performance at the Primary Principals' Conference in November.
This week Loreto Kirribilli Junior School hosted a collaborative STEM and TECH day, with Year 2 students from Shore and Redlands Preparatory Schools joining us for 'Dash in the City Day', designing and building city zones and then coding Dash the robot to move around it.
In another social justice initiative, Year 9 Thinking and Advocacy students are raising awareness and funds for breast cancer. They appeared live on Channel 10 to demonstrate their fundraising project.
