Each day on @BBCPM this week we have been told about the about the meticulous plans that
Edinburgh Zoo are undertaking to help Tian Tian and Yang Guang get ready for the journey back to China.

Pandas are amazing animals and I am glad they are being well looked after.

But as a foster care I found a marked contrast between the way that we prepare children to move from one placement to the other or to transition out of care.

Too many times children are moved on at a moments notice, with little or no preparation. They are moved on with little regard for their emotional or relational well being. We must do better for our children in care. We need radical reform in foster care but there has been so little ambition from any party to put children at the centre of planning or system change.
