(NEWS RELEASE) A 12-year-old visitor was injured by a bison in Yellowstone National Park on June 26 at approximately 9:15 a.m.

The incident occurred near Mud Volcano, just north of Fishing Bridge. The visitor sustained injuries, and emergency medical personnel transported them to a nearby hospital. The incident remains under investigation.

Remember, animals in Yellowstone are wild and can be dangerous.

Wild animals can be aggressive when people do not respect their space. Visitors are responsible for staying at least 25 yards away from all large animals, including bison, elk, bighorn sheep, deer, moose and coyotes, and at least 100 yards away from bears, wolves and cougars.

If wildlife approach you, move away to maintain the required distance. Never approach, touch, feed or crowd wildlife, even if an animal appears calm.

Bison have injured more people in Yellowstone than any other animal. They are unpredictable, can run three times faster than humans and will defend their space when threatened.

There is a very specific female fatigue that comes from knowing exactly what is happening, explaining exactly what is happening, being told you are overreacting, and then watching exactly what is happening happen with excellent punctuality.

Some thoughts from a security perspect:

🚨 The 10x Liability Explosion: AI accelerates code generation, which instantly creates 10x more code and a massive new attack surface. Because human code review is becoming a severe bottleneck, security teams must shift toward scalable automated detection and statistical validation.

🔒 Internal APIs are Now Essentially Public: You can no longer rely on network obscurity. Autonomous agents will aggressively hunt for and call any internal data they can access, meaning all internal APIs must be hardened with the same zero-trust rigor as public-facing services.

🦸‍♂️ Centralized Remediation via "Shared Fate": Tightly linked ecosystems, like monolithic repositories, offer a massive defensive advantage. Security teams can deploy a critical patch in a single file and secure billions of lines of code company-wide within a week.

🧠 Regaining "Intellectual Control": Modern systems have grown too complex for human minds to map. AI gives us the power to build continuously updated, interactive architectural models, allowing us to threat-model effectively and ask dynamic "what if" questions about blast radiuses.

🚧 Building Secure Guardrails: AI agents optimize for the easiest path, which is rarely the most secure or maintainable one. Security engineers must build strict "isolation" boundaries for rapid prototypes and strong abstractions that constrain agents from making dangerous architectural choices.
