Quite a busy weekend for people connected to Sharples wrestling club.

Firstly well done to @sharpleswrestling wrestlers Aaban Sadat, Essa Sadat & Freddy Henry.

@MostafaFatah Also wrestling this weekend was @phoebecocker_ wrestling at the Stora Björnen Cup. Phoebe wrestling with a broken finger and broken toe managed to come away with a hard earned Gold medal in her new age group of U17s 53kg.

Well done @SharplesWrest Phoebe who won Gold 🥇 today at the Mikael Ljungberg cup in Varberg. Phoebe competing at 54kg in a group of 7 winning all of her matches scoring 34 points with 0 points conceded. Well done Phoebe.

Phoebe taking Gold in the final in a match that was truly worthy of a final with both wrestlers wanting to wrestle at every opportunity and both leaving absolutely everything on the mat.

Well done Phoebe a fantastic achievement in a great competition.

A massive well done to Phoebe Cocker who has won Gold at the Swedish Painter Cup (Mälarcupen) This is a large prestigious Swedish 2 day tournament with over 800 wrestlers from all over Europe and USA

Phoebe is still finding her feet at 54kg after moving up 2 weight categories in 6 months; put in a monumental effort of wrestling, focus and determination.

There were 23 in the weight category- Phoebe winning her group with some tough bouts against some talented wrestlers.

We had a wonderful afternoon delivering some wrestling sessions in the local community in Breightmet today.

Well done Phoebe on getting a 4th place finish at the higher weight of 50k out of 21 wrestlers at the highly rated Swedish Soft touch open in Gothenburg.

Phoebe agreeing to have a run out at 50k in what is a very tough tournament with large numbers attending from the Nordics.

Phoebe unfortunately coming up short in the Bronze medal match with a couple of unnecessary mistakes that were punished.

Phoebe managed to grind out some good results against tough opponents to finish 2nd in her group - losing only once in the group to a wrestler who has been formidable at 50k this season, and who also went on to win the final.
