The Intensive Care Society congratulates the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine (FICM) on their announcement that they will transition to become the College of Intensive Care Medicine (CICM) in July 2026.
@FICMNews
As President of the ICS we’re very keen to support the development of the CICM. As an intensivist and member of FICM - it’s good to see my profession finally being recognised as a stand alone specialty in its own right.
We’re in full support of the recommendations from @RCP_RDC, @RCPSGResidents and @RCPEdinTrainees in their appeal to the statutory education bodies and @GMCUK.
We strongly feel that those who have been affected by the 2023 MRCP(UK) part 2 exam error should be allowed to progress with individual support plans and risk assessments in place.
