@CaltransD2 Y’all never gave any updates on SB I5 between Yreka and Mt Shasta. Regularly allowing traffic to pile up at the wall of the blizzard in Edgewood is a terrible plan! Stop truck traffic in Yreka where there are services!! Instead you created a massive pileup.

In 2025 we’ll be pushing regulators @CaWaterBoards to consider water availability and flow standards for the LSR! Fish used to live this spring fed mountain river that is lined with riparian vegetation all the way up to over 6000’ elevation.

Recent rain on snow events ramped the flow up and the LSR began to come out of its incised banks. Looking west from Harry Cash Road.

The Shasta River Chinook run is beginning a little late and a little slow this year. Flow has been good all summer thanks to the @CaWaterBoards emergency regulation. The free flowing Klamath has got to smell a bit different👃Let’s hope they keep coming!

@historyinmemes Well, the next shot will have to be in front of the free flowing Klamath river because Copco Lake got drained this summer!

@Aceret2AnnMarie @BauerKahan @CAgovernor It increases the fine for water rights violations from $500 to $1000 and also includes additional fines calculated on the acre/ft of water in the violation.

and beginning in 2025, we think they may give pause to that strategy. Now if we could influence the behind the scenes negotiations where the @CaWaterBoards lowers the fines for violators in settlement deals, we will really see some effective deterrence.

We are actually astonished that AB 460 has passed and have to give thanks to those who worked on it @CalTrout @tu_cal @PCLeague and @BauerKahan for introducing it. Scott and Shasta watershed serial violators of regulations had built the fines into the cost of doing business...
