This timelapse, shot from the very north end of Clifton Road, shows how rapidly and ferociously the #McDougallCreek fire moved north in just under 3 hours Thursday night, right before it jumped the lake. #BCWildfire#Kelowna#WestKelowna

There was a time in this country when people like me weren’t allowed to vote, much less hold office.
Tomorrow marks the 100th anniversary of the implementation of the Chinese Exclusion Act — a racist piece of legislation that prevented those of Chinese descent from fully participating in Canadian society.
Today, at the opening of the Chinese Canadian Museum, I had the opportunity to see the stories of those who came before me — those who came to this country to build a better life for themselves and their families.
To see the accounts of their struggles and achievements be told in such an impactful way is incredibly meaningful.
I look forward to seeing how this museum will illuminate those stories and showcase the countless contributions that Chinese Canadians have made to our city, province, and country.
