CFA. Caution: will tweet a lot (of bad opinions) about sports (NFL/MLB), sabermetrics, movies (especially 00s comedies), and television. Sometimes my dogs too.
Friends: I started a Substack called "The Analytics Say..." where I'm going to be writing about thoughts that are too long for Twitter.
It is free and will always be free.
My first post is on where does the Royals organization goes from here

BREAKING: "As of a little while ago, we have confirmed the first official case of New World Screwworm in Texas," @USDA@SecRollins tells reporters.
It was found in a 3-week-old calf in La Pryor, a small South Texas community.
I know it was just a passing glance BUT...Burrow couldn't be traded until probably 2028 (or possible June 2nd 2027). Would be a fun needle to thread to transition from Stafford to Burrow. Burrow would be the same age as Stafford was when he was traded to LA
@SamMonsonNFL Maybe it's for their own protection? Like it tells players don't rush recovery, don't try to run far ahead of schedule, do everything "correctly".
Also the headline is wrong I think? Parson's had ACL and meniscus damage, not multiple ACL tears (as in separate incidents)
Not sure what the experiment was on a 34 year old 97 wRC+ hitter the past two seasons who daylights as one of the worst fielders in MLB history to boot.
.@LanceBroz proposes potential packages for Tarik Skubal:
Dodgers: Mike Sirota, River Ryan
Yankees: Elmer Rodríguez, Dax Kilby, Ben Hess
Brewers: Jett Williams, Luis Lara, Bishop Letson
Worst case is the Rams "pay" him $46M in cap over the next 3 years (he gets $99M in cash) then they take on a dead cap of $54M in 2029 or june-2nd it for $18M in 2029 and $34M in 2030. Or they could keep him for 2029 at $42M
The money the Rams owe Garrett (cap wise) from 2026-2028 is incredible for them. Yeah, there will be some wonkiness in 2029 when they have to make a cap decision on the dead money but it's worth it for for the next few seasons.
