I zoomed into the first half of this (until it was 1am where I was and I had to go to bed) and it was so wonderful and interesting to hear about the incredible work @triciamatthew and the other folks of the Race and Regency Lab are doing! Can’t wait to explore the site more!
The JCB will host the launch of the Race and Regency Lab this Friday, September 13!
This hybrid event will feature an opportunity to view pieces from our Collection, a book signing with Nikki Payne, an evening lecture, and a reception.

Virtual presentations are funny things but I’m so glad I got to participate in NASSR ‘24! Many thanks to @profchander and Lennie for all their hard work!
I also dedicated this presentation to my dad who passed in Jan. The CFP proposal was one of the last things I read to him.
Thanks to all who came online and in person! I couldn’t see too many of the audience from my little Zoom corner but grateful for everyone’s presence and questions.
I'm excited to be virtually presenting at #NASSR2024 on epistolarity and futurity in the Woman of Colour! I'll be presenting Thurs., 8/15, at 10:15 am on panel 2B. Hope to see you there!
I’m going to be up from about 6pm - 4am for four days this week to virtually attend #NASSR24. Would love it if you came to see me also present on Friday in the panel immediately after lunch about weird Oriental plays and spectacle!

@jvitak A stress ball 🤣. In all seriousness tips or material goods for stress relief/mental health (perhaps adult colouring books). My undergrad used to also give incoming first years a coupon booklet with deals to local restaurants, cafes and businesses and that was so appreciated!
@travisclau …and then built in deadlines for a proposal, annotated bib, rough draft and final draft. Interspersed were one on one meetings with the prof and a day for each of us to teach a class on our paper topic to the rest of the class. We had six people so this was very doable.
@travisclau I’ve never taught one but the one I took in my undergrad had a huge impact on me. For us, it was structured as a practice for the thesis we would complete senior year. It’s where we learned what databases were, how to do searches with a reference librarian, what keywords were…
Delighted to confirm my virtual attendance for NASSR 2024! Once again, I’m stoked we now have a virtual option and while I’ll miss chatting with folks face to face I’m excited to present and hear other talks! Who else will I see? @nassr_romantics @Bigger6Romantix
