Finished reading The Armor of Light last night. Don't be put off by its thickness as it's a great page turner. More in line with his typical novels, then epically detailed Pillars of the Earth. Not a criticism. Just noting how he transcended his other work with Pillars.
Just finished this excellent bio of Franklin. Learned a lot and remembered much I had forgotten. Author Gordon S. Wood is so good at getting us to see through 18th century eyes.
For the second time in 24 years of marriage, we are without a dog. Sad day. First gap was pretty short. This one will be longer I think. For those of you with dogs, don't forget to scratch behind their ears today.
