Investigation should establish what else prompted him

AFAIK engg college profs don't discriminate against reserved-category students

A friend recently received an Income Tax notice for 2 lakh political donation claimed in ITR, 2 years back under Sec 80GGC

The dept found the donation was part of a bogus-donation racket: money was returned to donors after commission

He is filing a revised return.

All the claims are fake like electric vehicle bought, higher education loan etc.
Most of them get away with it.

The cleanup started with the RBI's AQR in 2015, followed by IBC in 2016. Banks were forced to recognize stressed loans, provision for losses, and actively pursue recovery instead of keeping it hidden on their books
