I’m proud of the reaction from the majority of #YCFC fans.
The message is clear, you can invest millions into a football club, but that doesn’t mean supporters will ignore decisions they believe are wrong. Money earns respect when it’s matched by trust, transparency and good judgement.
Outstanding support for @stumaynard. They gave fans belief again, brought players and fans together that represented the club in a way supporters could get behind. Once you can do that, you become one of us, and it’s obvious m fans will fight your corner.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we now hear the line of, “If we’re not wanted, we’ll leave.”
But that presents a false choice. Supporting the owners and questioning a decision are not mutually exclusive. Fans should never be expected to applaud every decision simply because someone has invested money. Crucially, we’ve been crap for a long time, we would survive been crap for a long while longer.
The Ugglas deserve credit for what they have done for the club. They’ve invested a lot and improved the club.
But supporting the club also means holding those in charge to account when you believe they’ve got something wrong, it’s the role of the fans.
York City is more than its league position, its budget or its owners. Most of us don’t follow this club because of its stature 🤣. We’ve follow it because this club means something far deeper than that for most.
The image that’s currently projected of York City and its supporters doesn’t reflect the club I know or the fans I’ve stood alongside.
The balloon will burst at some point i’m fairly certain.. maybe better for it to burst before we are too far away from the floor
This is just wrong. We've sacked a title winning manager for a guy who 90% of the fan base didn't want while our chairman puts instagram posts up saying " all I ask is you keep this energy when we win it all" how about tell the fans why you sacked the man who got us into League2
York City Football Club are delighted to announce the appointment of Scott Lindsey as the club’s new Head Coach.
Lindsey joins the Minstermen ahead of our return to League Two, bringing with him a vast wealth of experience working across the EFL.

@See_Jay05@LSissoYCFC I'm just saying it gives a bit of an insight in what it would be like to work with him. A lot of people saying he has a lot of input in the team selection ect and that with the stones situation suggests it could be true. Just my personal thought that's all
@See_Jay05@LSissoYCFC Yeah I understand that and maybe it was different context, however I still think it's unfair to even suggest that in a way as imo it undermines Maynard as the manager.
Imagine just fucking imagine sacking the manager who has got you promoted with a record number of points, united a city and a football club and then sack him 2 weeks before your due to start in the football league
York City Football Club can confirm that Stuart Maynard will be leaving his role as First Team Manager, with immediate effect.
This has not been an easy decision, and it is not one the board has taken lightly. Ultimately, it comes down to a difference in direction and vision for the football club.
We recognise that, from the outside, this may look like a strange or difficult decision to understand. But we believe that in the long term, the football club will be in a stronger position because of it, another step towards the vision we, as custodians of this club, believe will deliver sustained success.
Like every one of you, we love this football club, and we would never make a decision we didn’t believe was in its best long-term interests. We hope our track record of improving year on year has earned us a degree of trust, and we understand that not everyone will agree with, or fully understand, this decision right away.
We would like to thank Stuart for his contribution to York City FC and wish him well for the future.

Mission Accomplished🏆
The club is back where it belongs and everyone at the club and the fans deserved this👏🏽 It’s been a great 2 years here! Obviously I wish this 2nd year went different but changes happen- that’s the game but ultimately we got the end goal and grateful to be apart of that.
Thankyou minstermen❤️ @YorkCityFC
Two Golden Gloves, Team of the Season award, Top 5 most clean sheets in York’s history and memories I’ll carry forever, my time at York City has come to an end! Football’s a funny old game…Massive thank you to the fans for the unbelievable support! Onto the next chapter❤️#ycfc
@YorkCityFC It’s been an absolute pleasure. I arrived 3 years ago with one goal, get this football club back into the football league!!🏆
Making over 100 appearances along the way has been nothing but incredible.
Couldn’t do it without your amazing support. Thank you, Bats ⚽️❤️
Disgusting that from Aaron Pirre. How have the 4 officials watching the game not seen that! A real human being would come out with an apology but I doubt that will happen by Pirre….
