What was fascinating regarding the feedback @bmreadel and I received AFTER our WWW talk, was just how many people had observed this in their gardens. Few realized this was a contamination problem. Even the Ag Press folks, in attendance, had experienced this issue.

At an Innvictis Seed plot in Monroe, IN, Seed SAM, Mitch, and Intern, Amanda, are conducting an (IPPS) Innvictis Productive Plant Stand count. Our team goes out and use different colored flags to indicate viable plants, skips, doubles, & delays!

About a month ago we flagged off a new research site in muddy conditions. Decided to plant the mud from our 2 pairs of boots in a greenhouse flat. Grasses, pigweeds, and nightshades have all emerged. It doesn’t take much mud to move weed seed.
