Seeing some posts on Bluesky is unintentionally really funny sometimes. Just will be browsing randomly and someone will post something akin to saying "I'm so glad I'm not a piece of shit, because being a piece of shit is bad and people like that are bad"
In all honesty I'm really excited to finally replay one of my childhood faves, MW2, but I still have World at War to properly experience for the first time
Oddly I did play it before through Plutonium with a buddy, but it was missing half the missions so...lol
I don't think I quite respected how much of a jump CoD 4 was until I finally played the previous installments. Finished it earlier and it's such a night and day difference in a lot of ways.
It's still not perfect since it carries some sins of its past, but it's a big step
Tried Ravenswatch with a close friend earlier and it's somehow both not what I expected yet also mostly what I expected. Didn't really know there were other roguelikes like Nightreign where you try and explore a map as quickly as possible
Pretty fun tho! And very stylish
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis studio have used "AI-assisted tools" during development, but swear "any AI-assisted assets were either replaced or refined by humans"

No shot it has a 3.6/5 average on Backloggd
It's a pretty game and the idea is interesting on paper, but it just fails on so many levels. So little enjoyment to be had when 95% of the puzzles don't have satisfying solutions
Definitely gonna have some fun writing this review
Viewfinder has to be one of the most bizarre puzzle games I've ever played, and I don't mean that in a good way
I don't think I've ever played a game in this genre that has been so deeply against the player finding the solution in my life. It rejects the idea entirely
@TheVoidwalker09 Even if it's just meant to be silly as hell with a touch of precision, that genuinely sounds kinda awesome. Never been huge on straight racing stuff but arcadey stuff is my jam
Ty for the info!
Overall not a bad showcase tbh. Lotta stuff that didn't interest me given I don't have a PlayStation (I asked for that tbf) but some neat stuff. Dave the Diver prequel spinoff looks awesome, ILL looks delightfully brutal, Tomb Raider looks pretty good
Got more than I expected
@TheVoidwalker09 Yeah I feel ya on that. Not a whole lot exciting so I'm hoping both the Xbox showcase and SGF kinda fill that gap
That said, never tried either Stuntman game but that trailer got me curious
Credit where it's due, it doesn't look quite as bad as the last two entries
Still not all that good, but it looks like something that wouldn't turn me off entirely. That's a step in the right direction

Even when it tries to let you find something out yourself, it either feels wrought with far too little friction or plain doesn't understand how to give context clues toward the solution it's asking for
@quantaxtrep I agree up to the point of publications offering guidelines of their review scores. Like over on Backloggd, I include a list describing what each of the 10 points in rating means
It can be useful, but I definitely agree thst it's frequently misused
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for using your own review metrics if you don't feel like a 1-5 or 1-10 works for you
But when I see someone gave a game an 8/10 and then said they don't recommend it + were disappointed, I have to wonder what we're doing anymore lmao
