Zohran Mamdani is the new mayor of New York City. The democratic socialist from Queens won just over half the vote, with 50.4%, defeating Andrew Cuomo, who took 41.6%, and Republican Curtis Sliwa, who earned 7.1%. It is a stunning result, not just because of who won, but because of how he won, powered by a youthquake that flipped the city’s political script.

The exit polls tell a generational story as sharp as any in recent memory. Among voters aged 18 to 24, Mamdani won an astounding 77% of the vote. He took 74% among those aged 25 to 29 and 66% among those in their thirties. His support fell steadily as age rose: 46% among 40 to 49 year olds, 40% among those aged 50 to 64, and just 33% among seniors.

It was the clearest sign yet that young voters are not just restless, they are angry, anxious, and ready to blow up a system that feels rigged against them. Mamdani did not run away from that energy. He harnessed it.

India is fundamentally a larger player than Pakistan economically and militarily. In most metrics, Pakistan is the underdog.

APNews seems to have the best evidence, according to local sources, to suggest there were jets shot down.

Pakistan's response should be a defensive posture. Retaliation againt India is only justifiable within Pakistan's own borders.

Pakistan is better off not to fire cross border to avoid further escalation and loss of life.
