Fallen angels find redemption through an ancient bloodline of Shadow and Light. Standalone with series potential that promises twists at the turn of every page.
@author_clentz Participating in pitch events is the best way to get noticed. I've seen Editors/Agents state they are looking for talent via these events on X. It could lead to a query opportunity if there's interest and you get a direct DM with submission instructions.
Hello #PosterPit peeps! It's time for the second question of our🍿10 Days Of Q&As🍿 event!
"If your book could be turned into a movie, anime, or show, which would it be and why?"
I think I underestimated how many people want to query me lol. My thinking was that I could help critique y'alls works for other agents or for self publishing or indie publishing. It'd really help me a lot if you recommended me to your writer friends who fit this.
@KIbentlee Love it! Wouldn't we all love reviews from Tolkien and Lewis. And picked up by one of the big 4. Nice! It is within your reach, your writing is excellent.
As we Texans grieve our own and the tragic losses that came of this flood, I ask for my fellow community to show love, support, and prayers for all affected.
And for those Houstonians who sew their seeds of division and I won't give the satisfaction of naming you, shame on you! How dare you make this tragedy politically and racially motivated. These were children. How dare you mock them and their parents saying they got what they deserved.
And how dare you insult my God by professing yourself as a Christian. You and your husband's church are finished. There's nothing Christ like about what you've done. It's people like you that give believers a reputation of biggets.
You've spread your rhetoric in the wrong state, lady. We Texans come together during tragedy no matter the color of our skin or our political stance. In case you didn't know...DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS. You're gonna learn today!
In the face of heartbreaking tragedy, loss, and devastation, we unite. Let’s hold fast to God’s love and light, keeping Texas in our thoughts and prayers as we move through the days to come.
@stephenRB4 Can't believe I haven't seen Gerald's Game come across yet. Not my favorite, but a mind f**k nonetheless. Typical King, at least how he was.
I'd say my favorite was the first one I read, and that was Cujo.
Good advice. I just threw good money away on a book I thought was going to be "this..." and sadly was not. I couldn't even get past the third chapter before I had to DNF it. The plot I would rate a B and the characters a B-, it was the writing itself that stopped me in my tracks. And it was published by one of the big 5...or is it 4 now?
I don't blame the author because if written with more voice and a better prose, I would have enjoyed the read greatly.
I blame the publisher for putting profits over quality and releasing something that was not ready for the public.
@ForgottenSpire@talishammas Apparently, writing and how to write are as subjective as the concept: "what came first, the chicken or the egg?" The more advice I hear, the more confused I become as a new writer. I've learned to tune out most "advice" as "opinion," which again is very subjective.
That poses an interesting question. I'd have to say given what I've read lately agree...BUT
Books are works of art and, when done right, should make you feel like you've entered a new world. Tropes and genre expectations are what attract your readers, but that doesn't mean the plot and characters should feel familiar.
Use tropes to let readers know they're going to enjoy the ride but at the same time create unique characters and plots that leave those readers screaming for more. But that's just my humble opinion. Reading is so subjective.
@NiohBerg Just out of curiosity, because our media here in the States is so corrupt, what is the census over there on support of what Trump is doing? I mean no offense... just curious as a person who has a desire for peace in all aspects and wishes an end to all tyrannical regimes.
