So I’m back in England & I just opened a package containing the latest copies of my book! I’m super excited! I can’t deny it, I’m really emotional. It hasn’t been easy. Leaving my parents behind in Lebanon when I was 17 & coming to England. Working 70 hours a week to survive. Studying intensely to get into medical school. Developing a mental health condition with severe and debilitating symptoms & being forced to take a year out & repeat 2 years. The stigma. The racism. The poverty. The accommodation insecurity. It feels like I’ve been to hell & back. In my despair I thought about ending it all but Alhamdulillah I didn’t. Breakthrough is my story of hope, resilience, and mental health recovery & is available for pre-order & will be released on the 18th of April: https://t.co/CvkjSRydln

Extremely saddened to hear of the passing of Benjamin Zephaniah.
A devoted friend of the marginalised and dispossessed. A beacon of hope. An inspiration.
What a terrible loss to the world — but what a beautiful, powerful and eternal legacy.
@IlmFeed @azaizamotaz9 Sorry to hear this brother! May Allah swt give you safety and ease! Never lose hope - May the one who gives you hope, give you abundance and hope Ameen
“Oh soul,
you worry too much.
You have seen your own strength.
You have seen your own beauty.
You have seen your golden wings.
Of anything less,
why do you worry?
You are in truth
the soul, of the soul, of the soul.”
The British government doesn’t speak for the people. Our leaders have no humanity, but the people do. Over 500,000 marched the streets of London in the largest protest in British history. A clarion call for an immediate end of the killing of innocent children & civilians in Gaza.
What is your “WHY?” My why is simple. I want to be full of energy, focus, and strength to live fully every day and do whatever I want without restriction. I want to dance all night, climb a mountain, learn a new language, and play sports.
I am horrified by the reported attack in Gaza on an ambulance convoy outside Al Shifa hospital.
Now, for nearly one month, civilians in Gaza, including children & women, have been besieged, denied aid, killed & bombed out of their homes.
This must stop.
Attacks on health care in #Gaza are unacceptable.
Besides an attack on ambulances near Al Shifa hospital with at least 13 people killed and 60 injured, two further attacks were reported yesterday at Al-Quds Hospital and near the Indonesian Hospital.
The key medicine all these patients and health workers need is for this horrifying and heartbreaking situation to end.
We plead for a ceasefire and for working towards lasting peace.
Here at the largest protest in Washington DC for Palestine in the history of the United States. We refuse to be intimidated. We refuse to be silent. End the genocide. End the occupation. End apartheid.
