Dear Christians,
Being a Christian isn’t majorly about reading your bible or going to church. I see tweets analyzing “bible reading Christians” and “lukewarm Church going on Christians” but that’s not the basis of Christianity.
According to the bible the most important aspect of being a Christian is expressing love. The bible says GOD IS LOVE. And therefore if we claim we know God we must express Love to ALL. 1 John 4:7-8.
Love not just the people that look like you, or come from the same culture, village or religion. It’s about love for everyone.
Remember Jesus said in Matthew 22:37- 40
“You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.
This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”
How you treat everyone on a daily basis is your true expression of Christianity. Not just having bible verses at the back of your head, fasting or praying. Love.
Nigerian jollof rice hack:
-Use more tatashe or Shombo and less fresh tomatoes.
-Add fresh garlic and ginger for a better flavour.
-Blend your pepper mix with little water.
-In your oil, add your herbs and onion together for a richer flavour.
-Use minimal curry powder.
-Your sachet or tin tomato should fry properly before adding the fresh pepper mix.
-Allow your pepper mix fry extremely well until the oil is seen on the surface. Season appropriately once the pepper base is ready.
-Jollof rice does not require too much water or stock. A little water above the surface of the rice is enough to cook the rice.
-Cover your pot with a foil paper to trap the steam, and stir the rice at intervals.
-Add a little butter towards the end.
